Seamside

Your stuff should be yours.

It has always been about data. Here’s why we built Seamside the way we did.

Friends around a table, each passing a dish they brought

The same game for more than twenty years

Companies love the cloud for one reason. Once your stuff is on their machines, you go through them to get it back, and in the meantime they can do what they like with it. Your data is what gets monetized: they charge you for access to it, build products on top of it, or sell it to someone else.

That race is running faster than ever. While the biggest names in tech and AI work out how to win it, there’s an opening: your data could just be yours.

Shared doesn’t have to mean theirs

We’ve been taught that if something is just for us, it lives on our computer, and if it’s shared, it has to live on some company’s computer. It doesn’t.

Anything in Seamside can be just yours, your group’s, or anyone’s. You decide, and you can change your mind at any time. And most importantly, it’s never ours. We don’t host it, we don’t share it, we don’t hold it and we don’t see it.

The honest trade

Something is online when the computer it lives on is, which is how your own files already work. When you want something there all the time, someone in your circle keeps a device that stays on: an old computer, a small one like a Raspberry Pi, or a server in the cloud that’s yours.

What owning it gets you

No lock-in. No ads. No tracking. No data mining. When the things and the tools are yours, nobody can quietly make them worse to squeeze more out of you. This is anti‑enshittification.

How we make money

We aren’t an AI company, and we don’t charge for making things or for the tokens behind them. We don’t charge for hosting either, because we don’t host. So you’re free to switch models, or move your things, whenever you like. Our job is to help you reach your stuff and share it, safely and reliably.

We don’t make a product of you or your stuff: no ads, and your data is never for sale. We’ll make money when people choose to pay for a few advanced extras, and if you never do, everything is right where you left it, on your own devices.
